Death on Two Legs

So, I can’t really say much about Joe Paterno. I respect what I’ve read about what he’s done for Penn State and football…but as a person who was nearly sexually abused more than once as a child, which left me thinking it was my fault for years until I learned what it meant…I can’t naturally feel sympathy about it. Cancer is a bitch & I wouldn’t wish death upon anyone/losing a loved one is terrible, but if someone knew about the constant attempts in my case and spoke up, I would’ve been forever grateful, but it wasn’t the case for me. It was, however, the case for those victims & it took a very long time to surface…and that’s not okay.

People say he should be remembered for all the good things he did & that not speaking up about this matter was a huge mistake…No one can take away his accomplishments. But with all due respect, and I know everyone makes mistakes, it was much more than a mistake. Not speaking up is just as bad as the action in which occurred. I will leave it at that.
